BBETNS 5 Continents Challenge

In Broombridge, we are lucky to have students from a huge variety of countries. We wanted to create a challenge that is reflective of the diversity of our population in our school community.

This distance challenge will take place between the 25th June and 31st of July. The aim is to raise €25,000 by collectively walking/running/cycling/scooting 25,000 km over the course of the month. Over the past year, many of us have not had the opportunity to travel home to see our friends and family, so maybe you can do so virtually by taking part!

To reach this target, we need the participation of the whole school community. So get your walking boots, bicycles, kayaks, scooters and skates ready to take part!

Distance Tracking

In order to track the collective distance travelled, we are making use of an app called Challenge Hound which you can install on your phone and connect to most standard distance trackers and fitness apps.  Please follow these simple instructions to connect to our challenge:

1. Visit https://www.challengehound.com/join/b559b750-ceaa-11eb-ba59-77e79ed31d68

2. Click the green “Sign In to Join Challenge” button

3. Sign in to an existing Challenge Hound account, or sign up if you are new to Challenge Hound. You can sign up using your email address or Facebook

4. Now that you are signed in, click the green “Join Challenge” button and confirm you are joining.

5. That’s it! You’ve joined the Broombridge Five Continents Challenge!  You will receive an email to the registered address with lots more detail on how to track your activities

Donations

Aside from improving our fitness and having some fun, our other goal is to raise as much money as possible to buy IT equipment for the school.  Donations will be collected using Collection Pot at the following URL: https://www.collectionpot.com/pot/258001/.  Please share with your family and friends to help us towards our €25,000 goal!

Social Media Posting

We would love to hear and see what fun activities you are getting up to to help clock up the kilometers.  Please help us spread the word by posting to Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #BB5ContinentsChallenge and #BBTrekForTech, and including the link to our donation page when you can. We will be setting up a new Facebook event page and a new area on the school website in the coming days so keep an eye out for those!
