Principal’s Welcome

Hi all and welcome to our website. I hope you find it gives you a brief overview of the wonderful school environment that is Broombridge ETNS.

Broombridge ETNS opened in September 2016 in a new purpose-built Department of Education building on Bannow Road, Cabra, Dublin 7. We are a developing school and currently have 120 children enrolled, with a projected intake of a further two classes next year. We look forward to continuing to grow over the coming years to full capacity by 2024 when we will wish our first 6th class well as they graduate from us!

Broombridge Educate Together operates under the patronage of Educate Together, who currently operate more than 100 primary schools across Ireland and the UK.

Educate Together schools are bound by the National Curriculum and as such we teach all subjects within that curriculum.  As an equality based, co-ed, democratically run school we also teach the ‘Learn Together programme’ as part of our ethical education programme.  ‘Learn Together’ includes learning about morality and spirituality; equality and justice; belief systems and an ethical approach to the environment. ‘Learn Together’ replaces religious instruction and is recognised as a model of best practice in Intercultural Education by the European Union. It teaches children about different belief systems as well as atheism, agnosticism and humanism, without promoting any one worldview over another.

We are currently in the very fortunate position to be a small school with many opportunities to facilitate specialist external workshops for the children. These workshops include topics such as engineering, dance, science and environmental awareness to name but a few. We have also developed a strong relationship with Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and regularly visit their state-of-the-art sports facilities located a short walk from our school building. This have given our children the opportunity to experience a wide range of sporting activities at a young age and develop a sense of love for sports and a healthy lifestyle.

Parental involvement is a very important aspect of our school life. We welcome parents to many of our school events throughout the year from winter concerts, to family Fridays, and much, much more. We place a great emphasis on working in partnership with the parents & guardians in our school community to make your child’s school days as enjoyable for you as it is for them.

I hope you this gives you a brief synopsis of the creative, supportive and committed school community we have here in Broombridge Educate Together. If you have any further questions or queries please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.

Yours sincerely,
