Parent Staff Association (PSA)

About our PSA

In 2018, Broombridge ETNS PSA was established with the aim of bringing parents/carers together with the school to engage in activities that help create the best possible school experience for the pupils, contribute to a nurturing and empowering learning environment and create opportunities for parent/carer involvement in their child’s school life.

The PSA works towards this aim by supporting the Principal, Staff and Board of Management in Broombridge in a number of ways:

  • Organising a range of fundraising events 
  • Participating in reviewing school policies
  • Galvanising parent/carer action groups for projects around the school
  • Engaging parent/carer participation in in-school learning and activities 

PSA Committee 2023/24

Our PSA meets usually once a month to come up with ideas, make decisions and organise events and projects.

What Do We Do?

We have had many successful initiatives and fundraisers in the past at Broombridge including coffee mornings, fundraisers, informal meet ups, clothing & book swap events, movie days and most importantly our Family Fun Day. All of these initiatives have helped to bring our school community together. 

As always, we welcome and encourage everyone who can give some of their time, or share their ideas, or lend a hand to get ideas off the ground or who can maybe ask for support from their own networks to reach out to the PSA. You can do so through our email – psa@broombridgeetns.ie.

Projects for 2023/2024: Would you be interested in getting involved or helping out at any of the following?

  • February/March – School Library Clean Up 
  • March – June: School Grounds Clean Up
  • March 15th – Seachtain na GaeilgeCoffee Morning & Fundraiser (3rd-6th Class)
  • April 11th – Transitions to Secondary School Information Evening – 4th & 5th Class Parents 
  • April 24th – Incoming Junior Infant Coffee Morning(Incoming Junior Infant Parents)
  • April 24th – Sarah Sproule ‘Embrace the Awkward’ : Guest Speaker for Parents @7:30pm
  • May 11th – Educate Together AGM(at Broombridge ET)
  • June – Family Fun Day(Date TBC)

Joining the PSA

PSA Committee and elections

Each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) the PSA will elect a committee for the term of one year including the following members:

  • Chairperson
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Deputy Chairperson
  • Deputy Secretary
  • Deputy Treasurer

Anyone can nominate themselves for election and members have the responsibility of representing the parents/carers of Broombridge ETNS and managing the PSA in accordance with the constitution.  

Messages will be shared through Aladdin regarding upcoming events, ways to get involved, fundraisers and guest speakers.
