September: Co-operation
This month we have been learning all about our Core Value of co-operation. We talked about the importance of co-operation and what it looks like in our school. The children have been making an extra special effort to show co-operation in their classes, on the yard and around the school.
Co-operation is…
- Being helpful
- Working as a team
- Looking out for one another
- Everyone doing their part
Across the classes, we have been learning about Judaism. Junior and Senior Infants have been learning all about Rosh Hashanah which celebrates the Jewish New Year. They even tried some apples and honey. Eating apples and honey signifies the hope for a good and sweet new year. First and Second Classes explored Jewish artefacts and Jewish places of worship. Third and Fourth Class learned about Sukkot and even made their own Sukkah. A Sukkah is a booth or temporary shelter that is used especially for meals during Sukkot. During our virtual assembly, children from each class were invited to tell us about the different aspects of Judaism that they had been learning about. This was a wonderful opportunity for shared learning as a whole school.
Well done to all classes on their amazing work this month!
